Definitions

ActionSpots: Category of spaces on the board requiring that the Active Player first successfully answer the question before taking the requisite action. The five ActionSpots (and number of times they appear on the board) are: CowChipFlip (10x); GrabBag (12x); MultiplierSpots (6x); DeDingerSpots (2x) andSnakeBite (2x).

ActivePlayer: The Player who’s turn it is.

Ante: The stake (chips) you put up before a Q (question) is read, in order to stay in the game. Chip(s) for your ante are placed on the EyeSpot. Minimum antes are $25, $50 and $100, depending on the Board position of the ActivePlayer. Antes are considered part of the bet when the House pays out on a winning bet or collects on a losing bet.

Bet/FinalBet: The additional wager (chips) Opponents put on the ActivePlayer to win (answer correctly) or lose (answer incorrectly). The final bet is the combined amount of the ante and this additional wager.

BettingBox: This is the area on the Board that includes your StartSpot, the AnteEye for anteing-up and, of course, the (Thumbs Up!) WIN and (Thumbs Down) LOSE spots for your bets.

BoardLevels: The three playing rings of the GameBoard which determine minimum bets ($25, $50, $100) and the cost of a LotteryTicket. Players must go completely around each level before moving up to the next level through their own, color-matched Pass-Thru-Zones.

CashStash: The place on the Board to put your chips.

Chance: This is the likelihood of something occurring and is often synonymous with odds—but in a more positive way. If the chance of something happening is 1 in 10, the odds are 9 to 1 that it won't happen.

CowChip: It's what you'll flip to win fast cash when you've landed on the "cow-tossing-the-cookies" spot and have correctly answered your Q. (Flip a chip you find in a cow pasture and your reward will be something else entirely.)

De-DingerSpot: This lucky landing lets you remove all the Dingers on your GamePiece and collect $100 for each from the House.

Dinger or DingerRing: That albatross-like ornament the Reader puts on your GamePiece when you miss a question. After getting four of these jewels, your next miss will get you Dunced.

Dingered: What you get when you miss a question: a rude noise from the Reader to ridicule you for screwing up, a DingerRing on your GamePiece and a forfeit of any ActionSpot play.

DunceCap: The pointed top-off for your GamePiece when you miss a fifth Q. But you can remove it and the four DingerRings after you've paid your dues ($500 penalty and skipped your next turn).

GrabBagTokens: They're what's in the GrabBag. Always return them to the bag so everyone will have the same chance of getting each one—unless you draw the free throw, which you may keep until it is used.

GO Ahead/GO Back Die: The red/green directional die used when taking the 2xMultiplyerSpot action.

The InnerCircle: The entire area at the center of the Board, including the LotteryPool and Odds'R™ logo. The first Player entering the InnerCircle ends the game and collects whatever is in the LotteryPool. To enter, the moving count of Board spaces does not have to be exact. The InnerCircle can also be used to stack chips for the Lottery Pool.

Loser: Don't ask. You know who you are!

LotteryPool: What you get with a winning LotteryTicket or as the first to reach the InnerCircle, thereby ending the game. It's also the name for the blue water around the Odds'R logo in the center of the GameBoard. Lost bets, penalties, LotteryTicket purchases and the $500 seed money from the House are continually added to the Lottery Pool throughout each game.

Odds: The degree of chance that something will or won't occur. Odds also show the ratio of the payoff to your bet—for example, when your odds are 2 to 1, it means the House will pay two dollars for every dollar you've bet, if you're a winner.

Oddsworth: The cheeky monkey making some of the suggestions on this site.

Pass-Thru-Zones: The black and cream spaces with color-coded arrows through which Players advance to the next BoardLevel. Note: You count landing on the Zone space twice—when you first enter the BoardLevel and again when you advance to the next higher level. The odds are even for the Player who lands here.

" Tanking": As the ActivePlayer, you're allowed to deliberately miss an answer as a strategic ploy to make your Opponents lose their bets. But, of course, if you tank, you'll also lose your own wager, get a Dinger, and forfeit any ActionSpot play.

Reader: The Player to the left of the ActivePlayer. The Reader reads the Q-Card for the Active Player and shares the answer with all Opponents.

Winner: The Player with the most money at the end of the game—regardless of his/her Board position at the end of play.

WrapUp: The follow-up answer. It adds insight, info and a lot of fun to the short answer, so don't leave it out!
